They have given walking tours of Springsteen sites to thousands of fans since 1999. Stan grew up in Neptune (the town next to Asbury Park) and now lives in Ocean Grove. He has lived his entire life at the Jersey Shore. His first Springsteen concert was in 1976 at Red Bank's Count Basie Theatre (then the Monmouth Arts Center) and has been a fan since. He has worked for the Asbury Park Press, Home News Tribune and Newark Star-Ledger as a writer and editor. He also wrote a Springsteen blog for nj.com. Stan has always tracked down the pop-culture sites when he has traveled to Los Angeles, Memphis and other places and always enjoys showing visitors around the Jersey Shore. Jean grew up in Cherry Hill, N.J., right outside of Philadelphia, and first saw Bruce Springsteen in concert in 1978 while she was still in high school and has been hooked ever since. After college she moved to the Jersey Shore, where she has lived for more than 30 years. She and Stan have given tours of Shore music sites to thousands of people since 1999, including busloads of European fans. Jean is a member of the board of directors of the Light of Day Foundation, which raises money to fight Parkinson’s disease and other neuromuscular disorders by holding a series of concerts in Asbury Park, 11 European countries, Canada and Australia. She is also a board member of the Asbury Angels Project, which installs plaques on boardwalk benches honoring influential members of the city’s music scene who have passed on. In her other life, Jean has been a reporter for the Asbury Park Press for 28 years, covering everything from zoning boards to mass shootings, the Toms River cancer cluster, a World Series-winning Little League team, and the ongoing recovery from Superstorm Sandy’s devastation of parts of the coastline. She lives in Ocean Grove.
