Custom Tours

Stan and Jean offer private Rock & Roll Tours of the Jersey Shore. We are life-long New Jersey residents and have been giving tours since 1999. We have witnessed much of the Jersey Shore's music history and are always excited to share our knowledge, our stories of meeting Bruce Springsteen and seeing many of his surprise performances at the Jersey Shore over the years.  We love showing visitors around and have given tours to thousands of fans and visitors over 20-plus years. Of course we will stop for the best photo ops so you can take pictures of all the legendary sites.

We can take up to four people at a time in an SUV to show you the exciting sights and all the music history. We can meet you at an agreed upon location at the Jersey Shore to do a tour and drop you off at that location when we are done. We can pick you up at any local hotel, airbnb, rental house or wherever you will be staying. Many visitors to New York City take a train from Penn Station (right below Madison Square Garden) to Long Branch (about an hour-and-a-half trip). We will gladly pick you up at the Long Branch train station and drop you off back there when the tour is over so you can get a return train to New York City. We are pretty flexible to meet your needs!

There are two tour options available:

The Two-Hour Rock & Roll Jersey Shore Tour

In Asbury Park we see it all. The Stone Pony, Convention Hall, Paramount Theatre, the boardwalk, Madam Marie, the Casino Carousel House, the Upstage Club where Bruce really started in Asbury Park in 1969. Also the Wonder Bar, the Italian restaurant which was a bar in 1971 where Clarence Clemons met and played with Bruce Springsteen for the first time, Ocean Avenue, Kingsley Street, places Bruce Springsteen filmed videos plus much, much more.

In Belmar we see the E Street where the E Street Band got its name from. There's a great photo op at the corner of 10th Avenue and E Street (we call it the Springsteen fan's "walking across Abbey Road shot.") Also at that corner is a giant replica of Springsteen's  famous Fender-Esquire guitar. In Long Branch we see the home Bruce Springsteen lived in from 1974-75 where he wrote the entire "Born to Run" album. In West Long Branch, we will show you Monmouth University, home to the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music and the location of where the permanent home for the archives will be in 2026. We will also show you other points of interest along the way. The price of the two-hour  tour is $175 (total, not per person) for up to four people. The price is the same for one person or for four people.  The cost of the two-hour tour is $175.

The Four-Hour Rock & Roll Jersey Shore Tour

This tour includes all the above plus Freehold, Colts Neck, Red Bank, Sea Bright and more.

Bruce Springsteen grew up in Freehold and we see the town that inspired the song "My Hometown." We see two of the three homes Bruce grew up in and see the site of his first home which was torn down in the 1960s. We see where he posed for a famous photo by a tree that is on the liner notes of his "Born in the U.S.A." album. We also see his favorite pizza place, the store which was the inspiration for the song "Local Hero," his High School and other sights.

In Colts Neck we drive by the driveway to the home where he recorded the "Nebraska" album -- the main theme of the upcoming movie, "Deliver Me From Nowhere." Next door we see a reservoir where Bruce did a photo shoot ice skating for the cover of  Rolling Stone in 1981. In Red Bank there are several more Springsteen-related sites including the Count Basie Theatre, the Two River Theatre, Jack's Music Shoppe. For the Bon Jovi fans, we see his restaurant, JBJ Soul Kitchen, run by his foundation, that gives food free of charge in exchange for volunteer work. We then head out back toward the ocean driving through Rumson on our way to Sea Bright. Along the way we see the bridge Springsteen was driving over on 9/11 that was the inspiration for "Empty Sky" and more. Along the drive there are also other stories to share as Bruce has left his mark all over the area (and still does). The price of the four-hour tour is $300 (total, not per person). The price is the same ($300) for one person or four people. The cost of a four-hour tour is $300. We are also available to be your tour guides for any group tours you may have. We have done private tours as part of celebrations, birthdays and groups visiting New Jersey.

We do tours all-year round. HOWEVER, we will not be doing any tours on the weekends in the months of June, July and August. The Jersey Shore is just much too busy to drive around, we've learned this from experience. We are available for tours during the week in those three months.

Our tours begin around 11 a.m. or noon and finish up between 3 and 4 p.m. Depending on our schedule, that can be adjusted. To set up a date for a tour or for any questions, contact us at njrockmap@aol.com We'll get right back to you. Thank you!
